We are introduced to the Cimarron Ranch and the Bodin family in the first novel titled, No Way Up! Personally, I have been excitedly looking forward to this book as the story picks up right where the first book leaves off. I assume the third book will bring to a conclusion the mystery behind who is attempting to take the ranch from the family and constantly attempting to kill the family.In this book, the focus remains on solving the riddle of who is so focused on stealing the ranch and will get rid of whomever is in the way. The author does a great job of mixing up tense moments of action, adventure and danger with a comical pause or a possible romance. With the patriarch of the family in Denver healing from a serious broken leg with his wife beside him, the danger is ramping up and the siblings feel as if there isn’t anyone they can trust. The man after them has hired many guns against the family and greed is pure motive for some of the hands to go against their bosses.I love the female characters of Angie and Sadie along with Mel as they have true grit and are a determined force of females to be reckoned with should those intent on harming them cross their paths. I enjoyed watching a budding romance and the family sticking together regardless of being separated by miles, especially because of the determined nature of whomever is on the warpath.Read the first book and then this sequel to get caught up on the action, danger, romance, faith and family in the Cimarron Legacy series! The stories will keep you turning pages for awhile!
I love Mary Connealy's books! LONG TIME GONE picks up right where NO WAY UP left off. Someone is out to kill the Boden family and take over their Cimarron Ranch in New Mexico. The father, Chance Boden, severely broke a leg in an avalanche so he and his wife are in Denver where he can be treated by a specialist. That leaves their grown children, Cole, Justin, and Sadie, plus a few trusted employees (including Heath Kincaid, who married Sadie in book one) to run the ranch and try to figure out who keeps shooting at them. With Cole shot at the end of book one, this burden falls mainly to the others. Things are complicated even further for Justin when he develops an overwhelming need to protect, and be with, Angie, who recently came to help her aunt at the local orphanage. There is betrayal by ranch hands they thought they could trust, a kidnapping, and more shooting, but also humor in Mary Connealy's writing. Though we have to wait till October for the next book, TOO FAR DOWN, there was still a profound sense of satisfaction when I finished the book.
Long Time Gone is the 2nd book in the Cimmarron Legacy series by Mary Connealy and the story just keeps getting better. The Bodin siblings are still looking for the culprit behind the resent attempted murders of the their family members and the one responsible for the death of their grandfather. Cole has just been shot and they have to get answers quick before anyone else is hurt. This author weaves a story that keeps the reader engaged in the mystery, clean romance and the endearing characters and family humor.
I love the bonds of love in the Boden family. The story shows the strength and courage it took to live and succeed in the frontier West. The plot more than kept my interest and looking forward to the next chapter in the Boden Saga. I really enjoy Mary Connealy's talent.
Okay, my heart can plummet from my throat back into my chest. "Long Time Gone" by Mary Connealy may have taken awhile to resolve the problems faced by the Boden family, but it kept this reader hog-tied throughout . . . and wanting a sequel. Seems as if there's at least one string left to be tied off with something stronger than a slip knot. Must check out other books by Mary Connealy.
I love Mary Connealy's books! This is the second book of the series that has a mystery plot line running through all three books. Who is after the Boden family and their New Mexico ranch?Clean romance.Danger, suspense, and a few surprises.I can't wait for the third book to come out.
I loved this story about Justin and Angie. All the characters from the previous books in the series were also in this book. There was humor, suspense, drama, love, and romance. This book was exciting and hard to put down. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Mary Connealy a fires with a flair of suspense. Well written i didn't want to put this book down now I am exited for the next book about the Bodens . Who is after them and why?
