Douglas Connelly (MDiv and MTh, Grace Theological Seminary) is senior pastor at Davison Missionary Church near Flint, Michigan, after serving twelve years as senior pastor at Parkside Community Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan. I used this study with my church's Young Adult group. Connelly does a good job to bring together both the narrative portions as well as the prophetic.In some of the prophetic portions I think additional study is necessary, as the notes do not (and by nature of the brevity of the study) could not cover in full. The general gist was well taken however: God is sovereign Lord of the nations. His plans will come to fruition, and nothing can stand against Him.
Good study. Most questions were good - a few "how would you feel" questions are kind of wacky. The first half of Daniel was easy to teach. The prophesy part was much harder, but the notes in the leader's guide helped to some degree. Probably would be better to have a seminary degree or more extensive Bible training to teach the second half. Took a longer time than usual to prepare these sections.
When this $9.00 "book" arrived, it was a shock to see its thinness. More like a pamphlet, it was immediately off-putting to have paid so much for so little. True, size does not define content, but we apportion our hard-earned money for tools to aid our personal spiritual growth and want it to be a satisfying experience. It's difficult to know what you're getting when ordering online, so next time I will be smarter & check out the number of pages.
