So when I read that these books were indestructible, I was hesitant, as my daughterFinds a way to spill water from 100% guaranteed spill proof soppy cups. Well I was pleasantly surprised to see her get frustrated and throw the book because no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't rip, tear, or bite through the pages! (Bad mommy!)Reading with my daughter is torture, because she tries to eat the books, pull the pages out, you name it. These books however Stand up to anything she's tried. They are 100% washable, so we've taken them into the tub with us as well. They do crumble and wrinkle though, so the book, although in one piece, is a little beat up. It does help to put it in water and lay it under something hard till it dries to work out some of the bends and creases. Also, the stories are cute too! Photos taken after about a month of heavy play, and bathings.
This is a great idea. My daughter works for a day-care center that has some of these books. She came to my house with a number of the books and asked if we could try and wash them. They had gotten totally wrinkled. I carefully washed them, they take a good amount of time to dry if immersed. We did immerse them because of the vast wrinkling. We then needed to iron the books. The hanging to dry did not help with the wrinkles. My iron has a silicone sleeve on it and my daughter used a dish towel to cover the books. One book was destroyed because the edge of the iron did barely touch the book. I do believe that the books do last longer than a paper book for day care centers. They do need some time and upkeep though so this must be taken under consideration.
I purchased this to provide my child with a book that is all his that he can do whatever he wants with. Personally, I was pleased. The story and illustrations are cute. My child occasionally sits down and looks through it, and otherwise relishes having a book that he can chew on and tear at and toss about however he pleases. Wrinkles come and go from it, so if your number one concern is a beautiful aesthetic art piece then I guess you’ll be unhappy. Otherwise I don’t see the problem.
Another great indestructible book :) This is our second book from Indestructibles and we love them! Ultra thin and bends like normal paper so it easily folds into purse and I’ve even stashed it in my back pocket (rolled up) a few times lol. My 11 month old loves turning the pages and listening to us read him this story. The colors are bright, helps with learning objects and pointing and the best part... I never worry about him destroying it! I highly recommend these simple, portable books
I love the fact that my 9 month old can hold this in her hands just fine, the colors are bright and vibrant, and the pages really are indestructible! She has pulled and tore at it and it is still in place! She teething badly and she loves gnawing all over it. Super safe, non toxic. I recommend this item. Will buy more books, thanks!
We have had these for months and they have been mistreated by toddler hands and teeth. They are still whole. They look pitiful but no rip or tear still. When I told my aunt I bought indestructible books she said “well we will see about thatâ€. It’s official, they passed the toddler test ;)This beach one is especially educational to teach the first words. I like it a lot. Same thing with the “things that go†one.
Love this book! Finally a book to let my 8 month old chew on and wrinkle the pages. She loves t. It looks like it's been through the wringer after only two weeks but still functions well. My only concern is the binding... the stitching has already come out a little bit but hopefully it stops and won't continue. At this point we don't really read her the story so the lack of content that others complain about isn't a big deal. It's more of a toy for her to play with.
Of course baby loves to get into paper so we bought this to try and sway her destruction to something she cannot ruin. She's too smart! She does like this story read to her but she still wants my stuff. I give this 5 stars because he really does feel and sound like real paper and is "indestructible".
